Montreal Smoked Meat Sandwich Recipe

A classic Montreal Smoked Meat Sandwich combines smoked beef, tangy sauerkraut, and a delectable dressing on toasted rye bread with a slice of Swiss cheese. Ideal for a quick lunch or dinner.

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • In a large skillet, heat the sliced Montreal smoked meat over medium heat for 2-3 minutes, or until heated through.
  • To make the dressing, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, and Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl.
  • Toast the rye bread slices and spread the yellow mustard on each one.
  • Add a slice of Swiss cheese, a generous portion of heated Montreal smoked meat, and a spoonful of sauerkraut to four slices of bread.
  • Dress the sauerkraut with the dressing.
  • Place the remaining slice of bread on top of each sandwich.
